Raptor Farming vs Vaettr Farming? - Guild Wars Forums

How much does an average hour of raptor farming make? Vaettr farming? Farming in holiday weekends? Oh yeah, and would learning how to do UWSC be more profitable? Thanks guys!

Vaettri bombing for an hour got me 8k of golds and 130 cukcakes last weekend.

I did raptor farming for 20 minutes and got 4k gold, but 3 elite sin tomes, many sin tomes, 40 cupcakes and 70ish raptor bones whatever theyre called. So all in all probably very close.

I don't UWSC but most likely you'l get good drops + ectos.

I'm not rly into raptor farming, coz vaettir farming feels better for me. Anyway, in about an hour i got this in vaettirs: ~130 cupcakes, 20 mes tomes, 17 glacial stones, 2 white dyes, 3 lockpicks and ~35 goldies or so, which i sold for 4.5k/7 = 22.5k. That's good I think

I recently found a perma build tha tI can use on my Mes toon (my primary). It can't keep it up permanently, but long enough. It takes two runs of my skill bar to clear the area. I rarely die if I pay attention, and if I clear my inventory, I can farm for an hour, picking up only golds, stones, tomes, dyes, and holiday items.

Raptor farming is probably about as lucrative, but the skill bar is a bit trickier for me (a variant of the E/Me sliver armor). It is a little too much work for me, not to mention I have a mule I have almost filled full of Claws of the Broodmother (just for fun). So I prefer the Vaettirs.

Also, you get more caster mods on the Glacial Farm, which I am currently looking for, so I prefer that at the moment.

To actually address the question, I think the kill rate/ drop rates are the same over time, but the Glacial Farm has the caster mods (which are worth more), and the glacial stones (whic are worth more than the rib cages). Then again, in two minutes, I can kill 60 Vaetirr vs 37 raptors. Factor in the 12-15 mintues to run there, and it may be a wash, but I think the Glacial Farm is more lucrative overall.

The nice thing about Raptor farming is that you can sell all your drops, as opposed to Vaettr farming where eventually you have to start salvaging things.
Vaettr better for special weekends though.

Vaettirs for sure. Don't even pick up purples and shit, just pick up the golds and in a few runs you'll be full on all gold items. And UWSC sucks terribly unless you have a good guild who knows what they're doing, but good luck with that, cause 99% of pugs are utter fail.
